I love these mother-of-pearl beads as an alternative to a more traditional pearl necklace. Carved from the same shells that give us pearls, mother-of-pearl is made from the same nacre material but with a beautiful, iridescent sheen. Here, I strung a length of them on white silk cord and sprinkled in gold beads. 

The necklace is 18” long and looks great against most patterns and colors you’d want to wear it with. It also layers well with gold chain necklaces and long pendants.
