A single rosette charm hangs from this short necklace, carved to look like the rosettes worn by ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses. Particularly associated with the sun god, rosettes were thought to grant divine protection and symbolized rebirth and new life.

The necklace, with metal in a slightly matte finish and beads in slightly irregular shapes, is meant to feel like it was plucked right from a royal jewelry box.  The delicate rosette charm sits between hand-faceted carnelian beads (frequently found in Egyptian jewelry) and natural, freshwater pearls (a particular favorite of Cleopatra’s). The smooth beads make this necklace a pleasure to wear, while metal links at the very end make it easy to grasp the closure to put it on and take it off.
