During Cleopatra’s reign, pearls were rare and highly prized, large ones even more so. This necklace features oversized natural pearls that hug your neck, with a large stone pendant suspended between them. The stone is set in a metal oval shape, recalling the sun-disc hieroglyph and the sun god, Aten. We chose an oversized azurite malachite with copper streaks for its rich greens and blues, reminiscent of the lapis and emerald prized in Egyptian jewelry.
