About Sara Golden Jewelry
In a world full of cookie-cutter jewelry shaped by the “algorithm,” I want to give jewelry a personal, hand-wrought feel. My jewelry features slightly imperfect shapes and asymmetrical-but-balanced silhouettes, and lost wax casting is my favorite way to achieve that look: carving away at blocks of wax, building up shapes using heat and flames, and creating forms that hint at the human behind the finished product.
And I love using natural gemstones and unexpected stone combinations, making pieces feel extra special. Playing with precious and semi-precious stones lets me embrace the incredible variety of colors and patterns unique to each stone.
More About Sara
I’m an independent jewelry designer making every piece by hand out of my studio in the Catskill Mountains of New York. I’m inspired by the imperfect beauty of nature, mythology and folklore, and anything that sparkles.
I started my jewelry training in Florence, Italy and continued developing those skills around the US. While living in Brooklyn I designed for big brands like J. Crew, Kate Spade, and Lele Sadoughi, but never felt great about the disposability of the pieces and the materials we used.
After moving to Phoenicia, New York in 2014, my husband and I (closely supervised by our two dogs) converted a small shed on our property into a jewelry studio where I can make pieces that are hand-crafted and unique.
And while I’ll still help bigger brands bring their designs to life, it’s in my own studio where I can play with one-of-a-kind stones and make pieces that will last a lifetime.
