Amethyst and Rhodolite Garnet Cygnus Ring

$148.00

A tapered, smooth ring featuring stones inspired by the unusual purple-red Mexican fire opals. The stones’ rich tones compliment each other and sparkle in the light, and are securely flush set into the metal so they look like they’re bubbling to the surface. I wanted a ring that was both beautiful and comfortable, so I originally carved it out of wax and smoothed the edges to make it a pleasure to wear all the time.

This ring is named after a set of two stars within the constellation Cygnus that, since their birth, have been dancing around each other, caught in each other’s orbit. They’re destined to move closer and closer together, though from a distance the two look like one.

This ring is made to order (unless otherwise noted) and will take approximately 4-6 weeks until it’s ready to ship.

Details:

  • Available in sizes 6, 7, & 8

  • Genuine 3mm amethyst and 2.5mm rhodolite garnet

  • 7mm high at the front, 3mm at the back

  • Recycled brass

  • Made by hand in our Catskill Mountain studio

Opal Care:

Opals are especially soft and delicate, requiring a bit of extra care. We highly recommend removing your opal jewelry, especially rings, before exercising or playing sports. They tend to absorb liquids, so be sure to take them off before showering or swimming, and before applying perfumes or moisturizers. Opals also don’t like sudden, dramatic temperature changes, either, so avoid wearing them on ski weekends or into saunas.
